“It is, without a doubt, my last European Championship,” Ronaldo told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo. “But I’m not emotional about it. I am touched by all those signs of football – the enthusiasm I have for the game, the enthusiasm to see my fans, my family, the love people have for me.
“It is not about leaving the world of football. What else can I do or win? It won’t come down to a point more or a point less. Making people happy is what motivates me the most.”
