“Kilian Mbappe in Real Madrid. Let’s go!”, announced football insider Fabricio Romano on “Iks” in his own style.
This practically means that an end has finally been put to the multi-year saga.
“All documents are signed, stamped and completed. Real won the Champions League, after which next week they will announce that Mbappe is their player. Mbape decided in February where he will continue his career. From now on, he can be considered a Real player,” writes Romano.
Mbappe (25) came to PSG in 2018 for 180 million euros from Monaco.
Although he played with Lionel Messi and Neymar and scored 256 and set up 108 goals for PSG in 308 games, he failed to win the Champions League.
He didn’t manage to do that this season either, after the departure of Messi and Neymar. PSG was eliminated in the semi-finals by Borussia Dortmund.
He had been dissatisfied for some time and wanted to leave Princes’ Park. The president of the club kept him two years ago with one of the biggest contracts in the history of football.
He earned about 6 million euros gross per month (2.7 million net), and received a bonus of 180 million euros just for signing the contract and an additional 70 million at the end of each year of the contract, which was supposed to last for three years.
However, he was offered the option to leave for free after two seasons, and he decided to use that option.
