Denmark advanced to the round of 16 of Euro 2024 after a tense goalless draw against Serbia, who exited the tournament.
MAN OF THE MATCH – CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN (DENMARK)
Eriksen was the best player on the show – although if Dušan Tadic had started, who knows what could have happened.

KEI STAT
Christian Eriksen now has 133 caps for Denmark – more than any other player for the nation. If Simon Kjaer had come tonight, the good friends would have continued to share the record, but he didn’t and Eriksen is now alone.
KEY MOMENTS
16′ – BETTER!
Maehle comes in from the left and curls a delicious ball to the far post and Bah, the opposite back is there! But Živkovic fouls him just enough to prevent him from getting the header he wants, but not enough to receive a penalty. So the ball goes wide, and regardless of whether he was blocked or not, he should have done better.
39′ – AAARRRGGHHH!
Nice from Denmark builds on the right, and when Bach crosses the ball into the box, Hjulmand rushes behind him to Hojlund, who, with a defender behind him, makes a good save for Wind. But he falls as he shoots, sending his effort high over the bar.
64′ – GREAT DELIVERY FROM ERIKSEN
The ball swings and picks out Westergaard, he’s late – he has a free header! But he doesn’t time his dive enough, so he can only drop a tame effort into Rajkovic’s soft, grateful hands.
81′ – EXCELLENT FROM VLAHOVIC
Ko chasing Maehle, looking to see the ball in touch, robs him on the line and passes it back to Mitrovic, who tries to deflect one… and fails, the shot goes wide. It wasn’t easy – he wasn’t far from the side of the box – but it was the best sight of a goal he had tonight, by far.
86′ – MAEHLE DOWN RIGHT
And incredibly, he digs a great cross to the far post, Dolberg pounces to try and finish. But out of nowhere, Živkovic jumps in just as menacingly, arrives first and catches the gap to prevent an almost certain goal. It’s brilliant work and keeps his team competitive.
90+2′ SERGEI MILINKOVIĆ-SAVIĆ, THAT WAS YOUR MOMENT!
Tadic throws him a lovely square ball, and even though he’s on the edge, he has plenty of goals to aim for. But his low curler is completely mis-hit and Schmeichel makes an easy save.
