Celtic inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Chelsea in a pre-season friendly at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.
The Scottish Premiership champions took the lead through Matt O’Reilly’s calm finish after Greg Taylor’s pass, before O’Reilly turned provider for Kyoko Furuhashi to double their advantage before half-time.
Chelsea had more possession and created more shots on goal, but new Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was in impressive form to deny the Premier League side a way back into the game.
Celtic extended their lead in the 76th minute when Luis Palma capitalized on a defensive mix-up between Roberto Sanchez and Benoit Badiachile to score the third goal.
Palma then added an assist three minutes later when Mikey Johnston fired under Sanchez to add gloss to Celtic’s tally.
Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku beat Celtic reserve goalkeeper William Sinisal from the penalty spot to claim a late consolation.
The result on Saturday means Celtic confirmed their recent victory against Manchester City and ended their tour of the USA with another victory over their Premier League opponents.
Chelsea are yet to win under new manager Enzo Maresca, who joined from Leicester City in June
